The arch was built to commemorate the memory of the famous explorer – Vasco da Gama. The arch is embellished with an imposing statue of Vasco da Gama on the river side and with the statue of St. Catherine on the other side. The original arch collapsed in 1948 and was rebuilt in 1954.

From the name you can know Shantadurga Temple is dedicated to Shantadurga, the Goddess of peace. Situated 33 kilometres from Panaji, the temple has an idol of Goddess Durga with Shree Vishnu and Shree Shiva on either side. It is symbolic to the mediation that Goddess Durga did when there was a fierce fight between both the gods. The temple is a fusion of Indo-Portugese architecture. The Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount is situated on the top of the hill behind St. Cajetan Church. It was built in 1510 by Alfonso de Albuquerque after his victory over the Muslim ruler Yusuf Shah.   • The church of Reis Magos

The church of Reis Magos was constructed in 1555 shortly after the construction of the Ries Magos Fort. It is dedicated to St. Jerome. Historians have evidence that the church was built on the ruins of an old Hindu temple. Two former Portuguese viceroys have been buried here. Every year on the 6th of January, the locals celebrate the journey of the three kings who went to worship the Infant Jesus and the trip starts from the Church around the whole village.
